Privacy
ReelTempo is a product of 123teq LLC. This page explains, in plain language, what we do with the information you share on reeltempo.social, and with the footage and details your business puts into ReelTempo itself. We keep it minimal on purpose.
What we collect
- What you tell us when you sign up. Your business name and email address, and your website and Instagram handle if you choose to give them — plus basic technical details of the request (IP address, browser user-agent, referring page) and the campaign codes in the link that brought you to this site, which tell us which ad or website sent you. Signing up creates an account for your business; we send you a sign-in link by email rather than asking for a password.
- Anonymous analytics. We use Umami, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool that we run on our own server, to see which pages and buttons get used in aggregate. It doesn't set cookies, doesn't follow you across sites, and doesn't build a profile of you. On the signup page and while you set up your business, it also records how the page is used (where people click and how far they scroll) so we can see where they get stuck. Anything typed into a form is hidden before it leaves your browser, and recordings are deleted after 30 days. The rest of this site is not recorded. So that we can tell whether a visit that signs up goes on to set a business up, your browser tab keeps a random number while it is open, and the sign-in link we email you carries it along. It is not a cookie, it is gone when you close the tab, and it holds nothing about you.
- What you write to us. If you use the Chat with us button, the contact form or email us, your message, and your name and email address if you give them, are kept in our support inbox (Chatwoot, which we run on our own server) so a person can read and reply. Inside ReelTempo, the chat tells us your email address, your name and which business you are signed in to, so you don't have to. Nobody is answered by a bot.
- The Google Ads tag. The public pages and the signup page load Google's ads tag, so we can tell whether our ads on Google bring businesses here. Google, in the United States, is told that a browser visited the page, and sets its own cookies in your browser. If you arrived from a Google ad, the click's id is kept with your signup, and when your business's account is created a short page tells Google that a trial started, with that id and your business's account name; nothing you typed is sent. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, the tag does not load at all. Google's own handling of it is covered by its privacy policy. It is the only advertising tag on this site: we don't load Meta's or OpenAI's. If we add one, we'll say so here first.
- Which currency to show you. When you first arrive, we check which country your IP address belongs to, only to show prices in Australian dollars (Australia and New Zealand) or US dollars (everywhere else). The check happens on our own server against a list we keep there; your address is not sent anywhere or saved for it. If you use the currency switch, your choice is kept in a cookie so we remember it. The address list is IP Geolocation by DB-IP, used under CC BY 4.0.
Why we collect it
To create and run your business's account, to reply to you, and to understand how this page and our ads are working so we can improve them. The lawful basis is your request to us.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your information to anyone.
- We set two cookies of our own: the currency you choose, and, once you sign in, one that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. The Google ads tag described above is the only tracking on this site.
- We don't post anything, anywhere, on your behalf without your approval.
How it's shared
These companies handle it on our behalf, and no one else does. Cloudflare sends the email that carries your sign-in link, so it handles your email address. Google receives the advertising data described above. The companies that help run ReelTempo itself are listed in the next section. We don't pass your details to anyone else, and we don't sell them.
Inside ReelTempo: your footage
You own the footage and photos you upload, and the posts we make from them. We use them only to make your posts.
- Where it's stored. Your footage, photos and finished videos are kept in a private storage bucket in Sydney, Australia (DigitalOcean), used only by ReelTempo. Your business's account, posts and settings are in a database on our server, also in Sydney. Each business's data is kept apart from every other business's.
- How AI is used. To find the best moments, short, low-resolution copies of your clips and still frames, with the sound removed, go to Google's Gemini model through OpenRouter. To plan the edit and write captions and on-screen words, Anthropic's Claude model gets text only: written descriptions of your clips, never the pictures, plus your business profile. When you sign up, Claude also reads your public website and your public Instagram bio and captions to set up your brand profile.
- No training on your content. We don't train or improve any AI model with your footage, captions or customer details. Every request we send through OpenRouter tells it to use only a provider that neither trains on what it receives nor keeps it. Anthropic's terms for business customers say it doesn't train on what we send; it may keep it for a short time to check for misuse.
- Faces. We find where faces are in a frame, on our own server, so we can frame shots well, and estimate the rough age range of the people in a clip as a whole. We never work out who anyone is, and we don't keep face prints.
- Location. If your videos or photos carry the place they were taken, we send those map coordinates to OpenStreetMap to look up the venue's name. Nothing else goes with them.
- Our staff. Our staff look at your footage only to fix a problem you've reported, or with your permission.
Inside ReelTempo: who else handles your data
Each of these gets only what its job needs.
- DigitalOcean (Sydney, Australia) stores your footage and runs our server and database.
- Google, reached through OpenRouter, gets the silent, low-resolution clips and still frames described above, to find the best moments.
- Anthropic gets text about your clips and your business, to plan edits and write captions.
- Apify and SocialCrawl get your public Instagram handle when you sign up, to read your public profile.
- OpenStreetMap gets map coordinates from your footage, if it has any, to name the venue.
- Sentry gets reports when something breaks, with email addresses and keys removed first, so we can fix it.
- Cloudflare sends our emails to you, so it handles your email address.
People in your footage
Your footage will often show your customers, staff or members of the public. Getting their permission to appear in your marketing is your business's responsibility, as it would be for any photo you post. Mark any moment or whole video Never use and ReelTempo stops using it straight away. Nothing is posted until you approve it.
How long we keep it
Your business's account details stay for as long as you have an account with us. If you only ever wrote to us, we keep that for as long as we're in touch about it. Either way, you can ask us to delete it at any time, and a business's Admin can delete the whole business account from Settings.
When a business account is deleted, everything in it goes: footage, posts, settings, sign-ups and every sign-in. We keep a one-line record that the business account existed (its name and the dates it was created and deleted) and our website statistics, which are about visits, not people. Database backups taken before the deletion still hold the business's records, not its footage, and are never restored into ReelTempo.
